Hi Everyone,

My name is Luke Townsend, I'm 20 Years old and
I suffer with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Find It Hard To Access Gaming Controllers As I Have Limited Hand Movement.
I am Looking At Buying A Playstation 3, but haven't as i wouldn't be able to play it and I Was Wondering if anyone could Help Me in anyway.

if anyone knows of a Product on the market that i could buy so i can use it. i.e. Something to use switches

So That I Can Access Gaming.

I Hope You Would Be able To Help Me Or Point Me in The Right Direction.

thanks,
Luke

Re: PS3 Controller HELP

Hello Luke.

I am a Clinical Technologist working for the NHS and privately.

How limited is your hand movement and can you move any other parts of your body?

I sell a Switch adapter for the PS3 that provides access to all the switch and joystick functions, but this is only half the solution. You then need to consider what movement you have and what switches you will be able to access. You may need a fully custom solution.
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD7oZ-srvVo

To be fair there are other devices on the market.

e.g. http://www.gimpgear.us/videogaming.htm

And have a browse around http://www.oneswitch.org.uk/1/AGS/AGS-bespoke.htm.

Best regards,

Geoff.

Re: PS3 Controller HELP

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the reply.

I can move my thumbs quite abit but cant use my fingers as my hands are stiff, i can move my head abit & my feet also.

I have had a look at your product, i found it on Oneswitch last night & i think it would work well but the only problem is the price to be honest.

I Found something else on Oneswitch oneswitch.org.uk/1/AGS/AGS-switch/3/JoyTech.htm
i can still use the PS2 joysticks, so this would work well but i was wondering if there was a way to have some jacks added so i could access the shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1, R2).

i will e-mailing the people at Oneswitch if this is possable

Thanks again,
Luke

Re: PS3 Controller HELP

Hi Luke.

Yes, the price is a problem for me too.

I did a modified handset for another client who never paid for it.

Have a look at http://www.game-accessibility.com/forum … 2942#p2942

I have since re-used the handset but the switch moulding underneath is still around.

These were the shoulder buttons.

Best regards,

Geoff.
