Topic: JoyPad converters - self-help line...

For a (fairly) up to date list of JoyPad converters, see the OneSwitch.org.uk Accessible Gaming Shop, here:

Good news for the new generation of games consoles so far. There are adapters for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii - although the Wii adapter is only good for playing non-Wii games to my understanding.

This may be a good place to post if these new consoles can be made more accessible using older controllers. I'll hope to have some news on the Xbox360 XFPS360 adapter soon...

Re: JoyPad converters - self-help line...

Great news - the XFPS 360 is highly compatible with Playstation controllers.

Every one-handed controller I tried out worked (ASCII GRIP V2, HORI Super Robot Wars Controller, HORI Separate Controller and DragonPlus DuoCon2 RPG controller).

Brilliantly - digital controllers are fine too - and don't (seem) to suffer the fate of many PS2 games rejecting them. I played "Need for Speed Most Wanted" with my adapted Namco Arcade Stick using plug-in switches with no problems. Just had to adjust the game's control settings to be digital only (i.e. - the game controls didn't need the analogue sticks).

Obviously those games not providing a way to reconfigure controls, but still dependant on analogue sticks will render digital controllers useless.

Overall - great news. Great place to buy these is from 4Triangles.com - more at the link in the top post.
