Topic: Game Accessibility Website is the number 4 website in the world
So...ok, we are not first. We pledged a few tears, but remember, there are more than 16.000.000.000 other websites and forums and how many of them can say that they are the number 4 in the world for gamers who are blind, or the number 7 for gamers who are motion impaired.
Our Game Accessibility site has been awarded the prize for gamers who are blind by 7-128 Games after a nomination round in the last quarter of 2008. 7-128 Games finds that the Game Accessibility website is of great value because of its tremendous contribution of information and interaction to the accessible game development community.
The winner in the category Websites for Gamers who are blind is PCSGames (www.pcsgames.net). Audyssey (www.audyssey.org) is second best and our good friends from www.audiogames.net are third.
We congratulate the winners, we thank all of you who voted for us and we are proud of all the people on our forum who are discussing and contributing to this website and forum. You make this website wat it is.
7-128 Games surveyed more than 180 accessible gaming sites in three categories:
- Web Sites for Gamers who are Blind - (Game Accessibility website and forum is in fourth place).
- Web Sites for Gamers who are Motion Impaired - In this category One Switch (www.oneswitch.org.uk) is the very deserved and absolute winner. The Game Accessibility website holds the 7th place.
- Web Sites for Gamers who are Deaf - This category was won by DeafGamers (www.deafgamers.com). For this category, we did not win, but we do "fit in the list of sites that are too significant to overlook". It is however clear that we should attrack more discussion in this part of our forum as the jury concludes that the "deaf-accessible forum has never been an active place. We hope this changes". So do we! So if you are lurking and want to share, take part in the discussions.
The list is detailed on the 7-128 website at www.7128.com.
