Academic Medical Centre of Amsterdam (AMC) has developed two games to train surgeons and improve healthcare quality. According to developer prof. dr. Marlies Schijven these apps are unique because they have been thoroughly checked on their medical content in advance. These two games are unique and the first of their kind in Europe.

The game ‘Medialis’ trains surgeons in their decision-making. During a quiz questions are asked concerning several medical themes. The player can choose from 4 different answers and the scores can be shared with colleagues and friends. Everybody can add their own quiz, but those questions and answers will be checked on the correctness of the content.

Dr. Game: surgeon trouble
Something goes wrong on the operating table! Problem solving starts in the trouble shoot mode. The equipment breaks down, and when it’s fixed, the game continues. This game is free and you can download it on Android and iPhone.

“Both games are meant for professionals. Without the proper knowledge it’s hard to play the game”, Marlies Schijven tells.
