Nowadays you need a good game PC to make the games that come out run smoothly. Of course, there are also game consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One, but these devices are also not cheap. Google has responded to this by developing its own game platform; Google STADIA.
At Google STADIA, gaming is done on external servers. This means that you can play games via an internet connection on the servers of Google STADIA. The advantage of this technique is that you do not have to purchase expensive hardware to play these games smoothly. However, with Google STADIA a Chromecast of a few tens has to be purchased. In comparison with a good game PC of 1000 to 2000 euros, this is of course negligible. What is required is a good and stable internet connection. Gaming in 4K is possible if you have a good and stable internet connection. The options are shown below;
A major advantage of Google STADIA is that gamers with disabilities can also connect their custom controller to the gaming platform. Google STADIA comes standard with its own controller, but gamers can connect their own game controllers via a USB cable or Bluetooth. Whether or not you can say that the accessibility of Google STADIA was immediately looked into is not certain, but for gamers with a modified controller it is certainly a solution!
A disadvantage of Google STADIA is that you have to take out a subscription to play. You rent the games, as it were, because you cannot physically put them in a DVD reader. In addition, you must purchase a one-time Chromecast and, if necessary, a normal Google STADIA controller.
Regarding accessibility for the blind and / or visually impaired; the settings of the game itself are used. So if you have set something on a certain game on the PS4 so that you can better distinguish visual effects, then this can also be done on Google STADIA. At the moment there are not many games available. This will increase rapidly in the coming period.
It is good to see that Google has thought of a broad input from game controllers. This means that the views of current game consoles are not reduced in any case. However, Google STADIA seems cheap, but the subscription and the separate purchase of games has some financial implications.
